I hit 135lbs on my deadlifts the other day!!
I know to some that might not be a lot but I am very excited.
I have always been pretty active and worked out. By that I mean cardio. By cardio I mean running/walking on a treadmill and occasionally doing 15-30 min on a bike. So I wasn't doing to much just the bare minimum. It wasn't until I started dating my current boyfriend (Jake) that I started to fall in love with lifting.
It's been a little over 2 years since we started working out together and boy has it been a roller coaster.
Before lifting, the gym was always a place I felt very intimidated by. Reason why I stuck to cardio and would just leave after I was done. The idea of being with all the guys who were lifting very heavy weights and I would be there with 5lbs really embarrassed me.
I started following more fitness influencers and they all said the same thing "everyone has to start somewhere." That is so true! Even all those guys lifting 100lbs they didn't start with that.
After starting to workout with Jake he helped me learn the different lifts and what all the crazy looking machines did. I slowly became more comfortable with the gym. Even to the point were I started going alone and doing all these crazy lifts on my own.
Now I look forward to going to the gym and seeing what I can do!
