I hit 135lbs on my deadlifts the other day!!

I know to some that might not be a lot but I am very excited.

I have always been pretty active and worked out. By that I mean cardio. By cardio I mean running/walking on a treadmill and occasionally doing 15-30 min on a bike. So I wasn't doing to much just the bare minimum. It wasn't until I started dating my current boyfriend (Jake) that I started to fall in love with lifting.

It's been a little over 2 years since we started working out together and boy has it been a roller coaster.

Before lifting, the gym was always a place I felt very intimidated by. Reason why I stuck to cardio and would just leave after I was done. The idea of being with all the guys who were lifting very heavy weights and I would be there with 5lbs really embarrassed me.

I started following more fitness influencers and they all said the same thing "everyone has to start somewhere." That is so true! Even all those guys lifting 100lbs they didn't start with that.

After starting to workout with Jake he helped me learn the different lifts and what all the crazy looking machines did. I slowly became more comfortable with the gym. Even to the point were I started going alone and doing all these crazy lifts on my own.

Now I look forward to going to the gym and seeing what I can do!

Flirty and Floral

Happy Monday beautiful people!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. My weekend always seems to go by way too fast and I wish it would just slow down. Lately my weekends consist of just being lazy and scrambling the night before work to get everything together. Anyone else wait until the last possible minute to get things ready for the week?

The nice thing about my job is, we are closed Sundays and Mondays. I may not get your traditional weekend, but I still get a weekend. It’s nice having Mondays off because I use that day to run all my errands while everyone else is at work. The down side to this is I work most Saturdays, which isn’t fun.

One thing that I am constantly struggling with is, what to wear to work. I basically can wear whatever I want to work. You might think this sounds like the best thing every but it’s not. Obviously, we have to still dress professionally so no ripped jeans and no athletic clothes. Those two categories are majority of my clothes so now you can see my struggle.

Since graduating and getting this job I am slowly having to go through my closet and get rid of my “college” clothes and replace them with more "work" appropriate clothes.

When I shop I try to find items that I can were with ripped jeans on weekends and then dress it up with dark washed jeans and a blazer for work.

Going with that I try to plan my outfits for the week Monday night because then I have time to think instead of at 8 in the morning trying to think of an outfit...

Today on the blog I just wanted to share with y’all my now favorite top!

I just got this top from American eagle because I thought it would be easy for spring. It is also very easy to dress up or down. Now, for this outfit I dressed it down for an easier go to casual outfit.

Time Fly's When You're Having Fun

WOW! It’s been over a year since I last posted on my blog.

I’m probably the worst blogger ever, but hey we can’t all be perfect.

I’m going to try my best to get back into blogging because, I really do enjoy it. Since being done with school I really don’t have an excuse not to post.

Just to update you…Post grad life is pretty great!

It does kind of such being an adult, paying for bills, and working 9 to 5, five days a week.

But, I can’t compline because at least I have a job right out of college.

I finished school with a Bachelor of Science in fashion merchandising and I’m currently working at a small business as a wardrobe stylist.

I am beyond blessed to have this job because, coming close to the end of my finale semester I had no idea what I was going to do. Someone that I have known for a while, who works with me, recommended me to our boss. I’m so blessed that she thought of me for this position and put herself out there for me.

I’m coming up on a year of working there and I have already learned and grown so much. I’m starting to figure out who I am and where I want to go.

Being a wardrobe stylist is fun and like any job it has its ups and downs, but I want to continue to grow in my career and keep moving up. I don’t know exactly what I want to do but, I know I’m heading in the right direction.

Life is a funny thing and it can be stressful, tough, and unpredictable, but it can also be fun, amazing, and a true blessing. I thank God every day for the life he has given me and for all the amazing people He has put into my life. So if you’re overwhelmed with life just take a deep breath, open up your favorite Halo Top, and turn on Netflix because it’s all going to be okay.
